- MB> Hello John,
- MB> In a message dated 21 Jul 95 you wrote to Mat Bettinson :
-
- MB>>> BTW this is really very very boring and I'm not sure if you actually
- MB>>> are interested in this or if you're trying to score points off me?
-
- JK>> Mat, you were talking crap and someone needed to point it out! :-)
- Plus
-
- MB> Except that you didn't manage to because you didn't have anything to
- MB> say. The point was the price hike. Nothing more and nothing less.
-
-
-
- No, you stated that CU hadn't changed size. That was simply untrue.
-
-
-
- JK>> I find your "I'm working at CU Amiga so I know everything" attitude
- JK>> extremely irritating since you have only been there a few weeks. Wait
- JK>> until a few months and then you can take on the job of official
- JK>> spokesperson.
-
- MB> Well that's really not for you to decide in any way shape or form
- MB> matey! I've ALWAYS found your attitude annoying. You've always strolled
- MB> into echos to tell everyone how it is from a position of
- knowledge/power
- MB> rather than a hobbyists fair.
-
-
- I have constantly tried to explain how Amiga magazines work and what goes on
- the background. I have /not/ marched in with an severe ego problem.
-
-
- MB> I take on the roll of CU spokesperson because I have a very real say in
- MB> how things get done in the magazine and YOU do not. YOU do not have any
- MB> editorial control in Amiga magazines period.
-
-
- That's utter bollocks, but to answer it I will have to temporarilty adopt a
- MB-style head expansion: Listen, Staff Writer matey, I have been helping out
- practically all the Amiga magazine magazines in the UK for years. If you
- don't believe this, then too bad but you can ask the editors of CU Amiga,
- Amiga Format and Amiga Shopper if you want to call me a liar. I have
- suggested and/or written more reviews, articles and tutorials than you will
- ever know.
-
- Ask yourself who recommended *you* as an addition to CU Amiga in the first
- place. Don't think your obscure Autralian credentials were the only thing
- that saw you through the interviews.
-
- MB> Is there any OTHER detractions on my
- MB> ability you'd like to cast, John?
-
- You're one rude bastard who has taken a job as a Staff Writer as an excuse
- to let your ego run riot both here and on Usenet where you think you know it
- all. I've seen your rediculous arguments on Usenet and can only feel sorry
- for what you are doing to the magazine. I know for a fact that Future find
- your posts very amusing and helpful.
-
- MB> Basically I'm the only fucking person in this echo that
- MB> has any editorial pull at all John.
-
- Not true, Mat, not true at all.
-
- [ your cock-ups ]
-
- MB> Your glee in doing so is irritating to the extreme.
-
- I certainly wouldn't take any pleasure in pointing out your utter crap if
- you didn't pronouce it like someone walking down a mountain with tablets of
- stone under each arm.
-
- JK>> And where are all the staff you promised to get on-line? Did you
- manage
- JK>> to get one or two messages and that was all?
-
- MB> Here we go. <sigh>
-
- Hey, /you/ said you would get them on regularly. I just wondered where there
- were, that's all. I pointed out at the time that you would probably find
- that difficult, but hey, what would I know?
-
- If you can't stand someone pointing out errors or debating points with you
- without flying off the handle then that's *your* problem.
